GenoAtlas is an independent population-genetics and archaeogenomics project built to make ancient DNA research easier to explore, compare, and understand.
Large archaeogenomic studies generate enormous amounts of genomic data, but their results are often scattered across publications, supplementary files, and sequencing repositories. GenoAtlas brings selected ancient samples together with curated modern reference genomes and presents them through interactive genetic analyses.
Rather than reducing individuals to a single ancestry estimate, GenoAtlas allows users to explore the same collections through several complementary approaches, including PCA, Y-DNA, and mtDNA, with additional population-genetic analyses such as qpAdm and ADMIXTURE being integrated into the platform.
The goal
The goal of GenoAtlas is to bridge the gap between published genomic research and interactive exploration.
The platform aims to make it easier to:
- Explore ancient individuals in their broader genetic context
- Compare ancient and modern populations
- Inspect paternal and maternal lineages
- Understand how different analytical methods complement each other
- Trace every collection back to publicly available genomic data and published research
An evolving project
GenoAtlas is continuously expanding. New ancient DNA collections, modern reference individuals, and analytical tools are added as genomic datasets become available and are processed.
The project is not limited to a single geographic region or historical period. Its long-term objective is to build a broad collection of archaeogenomic datasets that can be explored within a consistent analytical framework.

GenoAtlas is an independent project and is not a substitute for peer-reviewed archaeological or genetic research.
Original publications remain the primary source for sample descriptions, archaeological interpretation, dating, and scientific conclusions. GenoAtlas provides an additional environment for processing, visualizing, and comparing publicly available genomic data.
